At the beginning of the game, each player owns two villages, a road between them and and six resource-landscapes around them. These landscapes are given numbers from 1 to 6 for each player. At the beginning of each player´s turn, the player rolls one die for resources and one random event die. The number on the resources die gives the number of the landscape producing a resource this turn.
The aim of the game like the boardgame is to get a certain number of victory points. These are generated by villages, cities and buildings. You also gain a point if you have the highest commerce and the strongest army of knights (which are played like buildings).
The card game is playable with many expansion sets who give the game a new dimension. But it's also a nice game without expansions. A must-have for people who like to play non-abstract 2-player games flavoured with a some luck.
